As soon as we heard Michael Sitton‘s Essay, we fell in love with the piece. It’s an absolutely gorgeous, lyrical piece for trumpet, trombone and piano. Each instrument has its moments to shine, and Sitton writes very skillfully for all three together, creating wonderful textures.
